About the 501st Legion

Since 1997, the costuming organization known as the 501st Legion has spread the magic of the Star Wars galaxy worldwide through its authentic, screen-accurate costumes. As the leading force in fan-based charity events, the 501st—also known as “Vader’s Fist”—is truly dedicated to brightening the lives of the less fortunate. We are an all-volunteer group of fans, and there are absolutely no membership fees to join.

How to Enlist

Ready to serve the Empire? To join the Icelandic Garrison, you must meet two simple requirements:

  • Age: You must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Costume: You must own a high-quality, screen-accurate costume representing a recognized 501st character.

Your First Steps

Do not buy any armor until you talk to us! Building a screen-accurate costume takes time and research.

Your first step is to contact our Garrison Membership Liaison (GML). They will provide advice on where to source approved parts, what adjustments to make, and guide you through the official application process.
